Welcome to the Portland, Oregon, Lesbian and Gay Kayaking Club

OutKayaking is a group of lesbian and gay kayak enthusiasts who enjoy exploring the waters of Northwestern Oregon and Southwestern Washington.  While most of our day trips fall within a 2 hour drive from Portland, we also plan extended overnight trips to areas such as Waldo Lake in the Central Oregon Cascades and the San Juan Islands of Washington.

Our group began in March 2004 with 2 members and now we have over 200 members (about 2/3 women and 1/3 men).  Our paddles are open to all and membership is free.
By providing your email and phone we can keep you informed of all of our events and let you know the times and locations of the meeting places.

Our members are at all skill levels and own/rent a range of kayaks from recreational to fiberglass touring kayaks.
We generally plan 2 paddles per month.  One an easier beginner paddle and the other an longer more intermediate paddle.  We currently do not plan white water trips but if you are interested please let us know.  Some of our beginner trips are suitable for canoes but please ask the leader regarding a specific event.

We ask that you always wear a PFD at all times on our events and carry a whistle.
